It's the perfect item to throw on your head as you head out the door for some good old-fashioned nature time! Because it's a full cap, it will keep your head protected from the sun, rain, snow, or wind. So go ahead and rock this hat in the desert, on the beach, or while you hike up that mountain. White Bark Pine
Climate change and bark beetles are threatening the survival of this pine tree that is a key source of food for bears, squirrels, and birds across the Western United States. The White Bark Pine tree is a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. The trees can live up to 1,000 years and are found at elevations up to 12,000 feet — conditions too harsh for most trees to survive.
They have been nearly wiped out in some areas, including the eastern edge of Yellowstone National Park, where their cones are a source of food for threatened grizzly bears. A non-native fungus has been killing white bark pines for a century.
